The festival BHARATIYAALAYA, hosted by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Aatmalaya academy is to commemorate Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi through dance presentations, most of them dedicated to him and based on his novels. Reputed artistes from all over India are participating while school students are being motivated to gather and present talks on Dr. Munshi. K.M. Munshi was an ardent freedom fighter who contributed immensely to the cultural ethos of India and was closely working with Mahatma Gandhi and other leaders. From 5pm, performances by Raadha Kalpa dance school, Aishwarya Natarajan, Ujwal & Revathi. After 6pm presentations are JAI SOMNATH, a dance drama based on K M Munshi’s book of the same name by Dr. Padmaja Suresh and troupe, LOMAHARSHINI by Revathi Srinivasaraghavan, Odissi by Shaili Chatterjee and Isha Das, Kathak by Soma Ghosh, Mohiniattam by Rekha Raju and group, KRISHNAVATARA The Magic Flute by Namita Bodaji.
