Mr. Muralidaran is India's leading choreographer who embraces the theme of the universality of dance and rhythm. He is a master in rhythms and performs in 35 different rhythm classes (Tala jaathis). He teaches his students 10 different rhythm classes. HIs daughter Kavyalakshmi is a prodigy and by the age of 8 performed her arangetram in 5 rhythm classes. Her mastery in syncopation during her arangetram where she followed a duet of mridangams took the audience and the dance critics by storm. Both father and daughter have toured Australia and New Zealand twice.
Mr. Muralidaran is not a stranger to the U.S. He spends 3 months in the San Jose area of California training students towards completing their debuts.
This is the first U.S. tour for Mr. Muralidaran, Kavyalakshmi, Mrs. Chitra Muralidaran, and 3 of his students. They will be accompanied by a very popular singer Dilip Pai on vocals and Mr. Dhananjayan on Mridangam.
The performance will be a real treat and a great awakening for the traditional Bharata Natyam connoisseurs.
This is not to be missed.
