Auto component players, such as Bharat Forge, Delphi, Visteon, and TVS Group are turning India into an auto components supplier.
Pune is the major centre for Engineering Industry, of which the Automobile Sector is the largest and is home to large players. India is the third largest manufacturer of compact passenger cars and the fifth largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in the world. Exports of Indian made automobiles and auto parts are on the increase, the city can be seen as a hub of extensive economic activity. Trade & Commerce gets a boost from economic development of the rural & semi urban areas around Pune.
