The Symphony Orchestra of India is the first fully professional symphony orchestra to be created in the country offering a series of concerts initially for two seasons in September and February each year.
On successful completion of the first year, the orchestra on the advice of its Music Director, Marat Bisengaliev, plans to avail of offers for recordings from international labels, since the theatres of the NCPA with its excellent acoustics and newly installed recording equipment suggests an ideal venue.
The orchestra is also planning to tour India and the far East to start with and will be available as a prestigious accompanying orchestra for soloists, programmes of orchestra, ballets, musicals and chamber music concerts.
