Ujjwal, an NGO working for women’s empowerment at the grassroots-level, is organizing a fund-raising performance by Bharatanatyam dancer Geeta Chandran at Kamani Auditorium, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi.
In her performance the dancer will present images of women both empowered and disempowered and make a plea for granting more spaces for the feminine spirit to survive! All are welcome.
Founder-President of Natya-Vriksha, an organization devoted to promoting Bharatanatyam, Geeta Chandran mentors over 100 students. A widely respected role model for GenNext, Geeta engages in the widest range of dance-related activities: performing, teaching, conducting, singing, collaborating, organizing, writing and speaking to new youth audiences. In recognition of her vast and varied contribution to Bharatanatyam, Geeta was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri by the President in 2007.
