Bombay Jayasri Ramnath was groomed in her initial years in Carnatic music by her parents. The tutelage of Smt. T. R. Balamani Jayashri then took Jayashri to the path of pursuing her music seriously and added substantially to her repertoire. She started performing concerts in her teen years. Subsequently, in 1989, she received training from Sri Lalgudi Jayaraman. Gaining deeper insight into the richness and beauty of this great art form from a Guru who has mastered every aspect of Carnatic music, Jayashri's career took wings. She grew from strength to strength. Her music contains conventional decorum, exquisite musical quality, bhava laden richness and an exquisite tonal texture, which is sustained right through her concerts. Under the guidance of her illustrious gurus, she has fine tuned the art of projecting her sweet voice. Besides her erudite interpretations of Carnatic music, she produces an immensely popular and knowledgeable framework.
