NEELAM DROWNING IN BLISS

Anita Ratnam presents NEELAM: DROWNING IN BLISS, an evocation through movement and melody, in classical Indian dance styles, of Sri Vaishnava (Vishnu) temples of South India and their poets, poems and stories. This acclaimed traditional solo dance-theatre performance will be presented as a tribute to respected Indologist Denis Hudson who passed away last year.

November 7, 8pm

At: Chapin Auditorium, Mary Woolley Hall, Mount Holyoke College

INFORMANCE in the New York Room, M Woolley Hall by Professor Indira Peterson, from 7.15-7.45 pm

The event is held in memory of Dennis Hudson, Emeritus Professor of World Religions, Smith College. Prof. Hudson was a renowned authority on the Sri Vaishnava religion, texts, temples and saints, including the female poet Andal. His book “The body of God: An emperor’s Palace for Krishna in Kanchipuram” is forthcoming.
