ICCR presents SIVAM by Geeta Chandran and her Natya Vriksha Dance Company
Kamani Auditorium, Copernicus Marg, 7pm.
To mark 8 March (International Women’s Day), and in conjunction with the International
Congress on Women convening in Delhi, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)
presents an evening of Bharatanatyam featuring dancer Geeta Chandran and her Natya Vriksha
Dance Company. The performance entitled SIVAM examines the evolution of gender-bias in
Indian tradition. SIVAM presents traditional narratives that highlight “un-gendered”
philosophies that are free of the burden of gender, but which celebrate potential, energy
and the thirst for unending horizons.
Stage design is conceptualized by artist Puneet Kaushik. Lights by Lyle Lopez.
