Preethi Ramaprasad will present a solo traditional Bharatanatyam recital, ABHYASA: A TRIBUTE TO LEARNING, featuring choreography by her guru Sudharani Raghupathy.
The uniqueness of her recital will be in the live musical ensemble that will accompany her, comprised of talented and dynamic young music students who are raised and settled in the U.S. They are:
Vocal - Sharanya Shivakumar, disciple of Padma Srinivasan, and N Ravikiran
Violin - Suhas Rao, disciple of Tara Anand, Geetha Murali, N Ravikiran, A. Kanyakumari, and Prof. T R Subramaniam
Flute - Rasika Shekar, disciple of Bhavani Prakash Rao and Suguna Purushottaman
Mridangam - Akshay Anantapadmanabhan, disciple of T H Subash Chandran
Nattuvangam- Lavanya Rajagopalan, senior disciple of Sudharani Raghupathy
The concert will be in aid of the V-Excel Educational Trust, a non-profit organization benefiting mentally challenged children in India. V-Excel was founded by New Jersey's own Dr. Vasudha Prakash, who moved to Chennai, India to follow her dream of helping these children. Today, it has gained a reputation as one of the best facilities in India supporting children with mental challenges, as well as their families.
