Synopsis: Shakthi (Vishal), a trekking guide, goes to Bangkok after he receives a patch-up invitation from his lover Roopa ( Sunaina), who had broken up with him. En route, he strikes up a friendship Maya ( Trisha). When Roopa doesn't arrive for the rendezvous, Shakthi decides to return to India but gets embroiled in a mystery where he is taken for a millionaire businessman. Pretty soon, even Shakthi starts doubting his own identity. Can he get out of this conundrum?
Movie Review: The real test in crafting a mystery thriller is in how you undo the knots which you have so painstakingly constructed and director Thiru passes this test quite satisfactorily in Vetadu Ventadu. He not only manages to create intrigue but also solves the puzzle he has created in a plausible manner. Like David Fincher's The Game, this film is about a man who finds himself in an extraordinary situation where his life isn't controlled by fate but by invisible persons who hold the strings. But, this thematic similarity ends here, and Thiru's presentation is very much his own.
The film begins with a typical introduction scene that we have come to expect for a mass hero (Shakthi takes on a bunch of smugglers) and just when we expect to be dished out a hero-worshipping fare,
