Cast: Brahmanadam, Ali, Raghu Babu, Venu Madhav, Vennela Kishore, Thagubothu RameshDirection: Vennela KishoreGenre: Comedy
Story: Jasmine Phalguna aka Jaffa (Brahmanandam) is a software engineer who is convicted on charges of murder. He becomes the go to guy in jail, and even the jailor becomes an ardent follower. But Jaffa wants to run away.
Movie Review: There is something about the term Jaffa. It seems to mean so many different things to different people. In cricketing terms, jaffa means an unplayable delivery. There is a variety of oranges developed by Arab farmers in the nineteenth century, which takes its name from the city of Jaffa, where it was first produced for expert. It's also a slang term used to describe and impotent man. Don't know where Brahmanandam first picked it up from but is one of his most often quoted expression, that's seems to have inspired a whole feature film - it's a random comedy inspired by a random idea.
Brahmanandam still manages to evoke a few laughs with his histrionics but they are just too far and few in between. As funny as he is, the man can't be a movie all by himself, can he? It has have a bevy of comedy actors like Venu Madhav, Ali, Thagubothu Ramesh, Vennela Kishore and Raghu Babu but they are all saddled with mindless characters of no consequence.
It would be fair to say the movie lives up to its name. It does offer some lame fun, but it's a little too amateurish in design.
