Cast: Sundeep Kishan, Dimple, Jagan, Srinath, Livingston, Uma Padmanabhan, SwaminathanDirection: R Madhan KumarGenre: ComedyDuration: 2 hours 20 minutes
Synopsis: Shiva (Sundeep Kishan) is a carefree youth, whose main job is to hang out in college and drink with buddy Vasanth (Jagan). After his girlfriend Sindhiya (Dimple) becomes pregnant, he marries her but makes no attempt to finish his course or get a job. His life changes when he overhears Sindhiya talking to a former boyfriend, Mahesh.
Movie Review: I must confess what drew me to the movie was its trailer. It was edited crisply, and the jokes were funny and delivered very well. In retrospect, the trailer had all the best jokes, and Yaaruda Mahesh turns out to be an example of the trailer being more watchable than the movie itself.
This is not to say that the movie does not have its moments. Jagan, after his negative turn in the recent movie Vathikuchi, is in terrific form and shares a very good rapport with Sundeep. Their drunken antics are hilarious, and Jagan's expressions and dialogue delivery are bang on. Shiva's attempts to hunt for Mahesh are also narrated in an engaging manner. But the movie falls victim to its pace, one reason being the songs that keep interrupting its flow.
Sundeep Kishan makes his debut in Tamil, after getting noticed in his first Hindi film Shor In The City and garnering praise for his Telugu ones.
