Story: Private detective Ramachari (Venu) is not one by choice though he simply loves his job. He would rather don the khakhi uniform about which he is so obsessed but they would not let him. Reason: his brother-in-law, also a sub-inspector, feels insecure. Not just that, even the city police commissioner who is hand-in-glove with the mafia is determined to keep Ramachari out.
Movie Review: Ramachari becomes a gudachari (detective). The private detective that he is, Ramachari, can do what the police cannot do. Nay, what they do not want to do.
When the top boss of the police force in the city aids the underworld in their attempts to kill the chief minister, Ramachari descends on the scene. The turn of events actually come to the aid of the private detective and he grabs all the attention and the appreciation of everyone, including that of the chief minister.
It is not, however, so easy all the time. Ramachari then has to reinvent himself, think of out-of-the-box ideas and comes up trumps. Aiding him in his ventures subsequently are his father and uncle, both of whom get suspended from the police force. That is because, an over enthusiastic Ramachari, unauthorisedly, takes Arjun, the police sniffer dog, and detects a bomb planted by terrorists in a hospital, which the chief minister was to visit.
