    Thelisi Theliyaka Review - 8/24/2013 6:29:59 AM
  Cast: Geetanand, Mythili, Krishna, Hasini

Direction: K Jaya Prakash

Genre: Horror

A surprise birthday party for a girl turns horrific and two pairs get stranded on an island in the Godavari river. It gets scary but you get weary.

They suffer the first fright when the boat that is supposed to pick them up from the island at 5 pm does not come. The group shudders at the thought of having to spend the night in the dark and on the unfamiliar island. Worse, they had come to the island on the sly without informing their parents and now they cannot contact them because their mobiles phones have either run out of battery or have got conked off.

You don't sympathise with the pairs in peril. The director gets your goat with the way he gets his characters to repeat their expressed emotions in all the situations. They say something. Say it again. Repeat it once more.

There's nothing much to describe about the characters in detail. Both the pairs are students. While one of the boys is only too eager to get physical with his partner, in the other pair, the girl pokes fun at her dumb boyfriend. The characters are established. So you think. But it goes on for two hours. Two full hours.

A mysterious character emerges out of the thickets - friendly, yet unfriendly. Helpful, yet scary. There's a story behind him. And you wish you were able to put the experience of having to watch all that stuff behind you.
