The young police officer in khakhi gets kicked around too much - getting transferred as many as 22 times in five years time. Since he's not pliable, they shunt him out of the state itself and he lands a Mumbai posting. He gets kicking even there though it is no easy task. But he will go for the kill.
Vijay Khanna (Ram Charan Tej) takes his uniform seriously, as seriously as he should. He gets cracking when a deputy collector is set ablaze when he is capturing the illegal activities of the oil mafia on his mobile phone. Mala (Priyanka Chopra) who flies down all the way from New York for a friend's wedding is an eye witness to the murder and informs the police.
ACP Vijay Khanna tells her that she is not permitted to leave the country because she will have to be a witness in the case. Mala is furious but the ACP makes arrangements for her to stay with him in his own house.
After an initial clash with the local strongman, Sher Khan (Srihari), ACP Vijay Khanna ends up friends with him and takes his help in trying to identify the culprits in the deputy collector's murder case through Mala's description.
The killer is caught and is in the police lock-up but just before he can be taken to the court,
