Cast: Arjun Vijayaraghavan, Gibran Osman, Neelam Upadhyaya, Suganthy
Direction: Durai Karthikeyan
Genre: Thriller
Duration: 1 hour 50 minutes
Synopsis: Karthik (Arjun) discovers that his wife Priya (Neelam) is having an affair and follows her to a hotel. He books a room very next to hers and tells his close friend Madhav (Gibran) of his intention to commit suicide. But little does he know that it is Madhav who is Priya's secret lover!
Review: In the hands of a more assured director, Unnodu Oru Naal would have been an interesting neo noir like the Coen Brothers' The Man Who Wasn't There, but with a weak script and limp performances, Durai Karthikeyan's debut film mostly resembles a student film that has managed to get screened on the big screen. The premise — a husband coming to know of his wife's adulterous affair with her past lover and deciding to put an end to it — is interesting but the execution has neither finesse nor flair. The characters too are broadly sketched and their motivations blurry. For instance, we are never shown Priya's dilemma after she gets into a relationship with Madhav who claims he hasn't been happy ever since she left him for her. One moment she says that she is lucky to have a husband who makes every day feel new for her, and soon, she is seen in bed with Madhav! Despite the juicy drama, the movie also feels flat —be it a romantic scene or a murder or just a casual conversation, everything plays out in the same tone. Even the final twist,
