The village bumpkin makes 14 unsuccessful attempts to pass his 10th class. But he has the common sense to suspect the intentions of his relative from the US who arrives home and decides to marry him. In the US, he happens just as she suspected. She's ready to dump him for another man.
Bullabbayi (Yes, that's what he is called all through the movie) is happy living his life in the village with a style of his own. He's harmless, jovial, friendly and helpful. Bullabbayi (Sumanth) is smitten by Neelaveni (Pinky Savika) but does not express it because he knows they won't make a good match. Neelavani rejects all the proposals that her parents bring for her marriage. To everyone's shock she chooses Bullabbayi. Before the wedding is to take place, Bullabbayi does confront Neelavani expressing suspicions about her decision to marry him. To his surprise, he admits that she does have intentions. Bullabbayi, however, gets into wedlock her because that is the only way he can land in the US.
Neelavani shows her true colours very soon. She cannot even stand the very sight of Bullabbayi and is always irritated with him. In the course of time, Neelaveni falls for a doctor who proposes to her. She is only overjoyed and gets a divorce from Bullabbayi. An arrow pierces through Bullabbayi's heart.
