In Tollywood where there are set formulae, expected storylines, familiar ingredients, typical typecasting of artistes, and anticipated twists, Dil Deewana comes as a breath of fresh air. Of course, it all revolves around romance but not of the cinematic variety. It's more closer to life.
Surya (Raj Arjun Gummi) is sure he wants to marry Sri (Kritika Singhaal) but even after four years of romance, it doesn't happen. Surya promises that he would marry once his sister is married off. But there's pressure on Sri from her parents for her to get married. She's got her own reasons to pressurise Surya and he's got his own reasons for delaying it.
Santosh (Rohith Reddy Madupu) is a wannabe film director and is smitten by Divya (Neha Deshpande).
What makes life difficult for the girls - Sri and Divya - is that there are two other characters after them, swearing love for them, and desperately wanting to get married to them. They have to ward them off and it is a task. The two are not villains baying for their pound of flesh but truly have a weakness for these two girls - except that going by their looks, the girls can't fall for them. And supporting these two boys are their fathers who want that their sons should get married to the girls of their choice.
