Cast: Gulshan Devaiah, Radhika Apte, Sai Tamhankar, Veera Saxena, Sagar DeshmukhDirection: Harshavardhan Kulkarni
So. now you know that there is a sexual predator on the prowl, who goes around as Mandar (Gulshan Devaiah). There is no need to be 'beware' of him because he doesn't pounce on his prey. On the contrary, from his growing-up days to the time he becomes an adult, he relies on his charm to get himself laid. Yes, most of the women he sleeps with are happy to oblige. Under the circumstances, there is a lot of fun to be had, at least in the first half, for the hero as well as the audience.
Writer-director Harshavardhan Kulkarni creates an American Pie situation in Pune, Mumbai and rural Maharashtra. Mandar and his two childhood friends are either talking of peeing or fornicating. The jokes about vasus (guys who constantly have sex on their minds) are relatable. After a point though, the 'scoring' situations feel repetitive.
The dialogue is light-hearted but mercifully, doesn't depend too much on profanities or the Censor's Board list of banned cuss words. The film spans 25 years and depicts various 'sexapades' — from cheating with a Savita bhabhi to passionate sex with a married lady, Jyotsna (Sai Tamhankar); Mandar confesses that he is '100 not out'! On one occasion though, he becomes infatuated with Tripti Gokhale (Radhika Apte), the bohemian Pune girl, whose parents want to see her name on a wedding card.
