Cast: Tamil, Sri Priyanka, Prasad, Udhayaraj, Hitker, Mahanadi Shankar, Vietnam Veedu Sundaram.Direction: Igore.Genre: Comedy.Duration: 2 hours 27 minutes
Synopsis: Four small-time criminals come across a call for help, promising them a lumpsum amount for their troubles.
Review: A largely unknown cast, a quirky storyline fit for a black comedy, real-life locations, funky music... Vandha Mala has them all. But it is so terribly written and the direction is non-existent that it ends up being a hamfisted attempt that will only make people distrustful of similar attempts in the future. The film revolves around four chain-snatchers who find a note in one of the chains that they steal. It asks them for help and assures a sum of Rs 2 crore. Lured by the lucre, they decide to go ahead and get mixed up in an insipid espionage plot that has barely a handful of laughs.
The only redeeming feature in the film is the heroine's character. She is a fearless girl, who is madly in love with the hero and isn't abashed one bit admitting her sexual urges. It is a refreshing change from the coy heroines we find in mainstream films. It also helps that the actress, Sri Priyanka, can act. But the same cannot be said of any of the four leads or any of the other actors for that matter. The flat cinematography reminds you of badly-made TV shows and the film just moves from one rambling scene to another,
