The Manager of Content Technologies will build and lead a small team of elite technologists in their mission to develop innovative technology and deliver that technology to Adobe’s product teams. This individual will provide technical leadership to the team and across Adobe.
The Manager of Content Technologies will provide leadership, vision and focus for this group. Specific responsibilities include acting as liaison to the product groups, working with the technology group members to plan their activities, evangelizing technology developed within the group and planning for the transfer of technology into products. Some individual contribution within the systems technology area would be encouraged and expected.
This group will build upon Adobe's strong heritage in document technologies to innovate in the ways that content is packaged, formatted, connected with other content, delivered, and rendered in clients. The group will understand the relationship between documents, dynamic content and applications, will leverage emerging technologies, and create new ones, to ensure that Adobe stays at the fore-front in this whole space.
The group's focus may include, but is not limited to, developing new technologies in the following:
·Next generation document formats.
·Template-based documents.
·Dynamic layout.
·Text engines.
·Confluence of document and rich application models.
·Client player technology.
·Rich internet and desktop applications.
·As a senior member of the tetechnical staff, the candidate should have demonstrated proficiency in the following areas.
·Provide leadership, vision and focus for the group.
·Clear understanding of Adobe’s business.
·Understand and manage advanced development/research.
·Able to recruit and retain high quality individuals.
·Develop and maintain relationships with internal product groups.
·Maintain appropriate external relationships (University groups, industrial partners).
