General Requirements: The Basis Administrator is responsible for the support and technical performance characteristics of an SAP environment, including network, database and application server performance. SAP Basis Administrators commonly perform activities similar to those of System Administrators, Network Administrators, Database Administrators, and Configuration Managers (in the context of the SAP environment). Those holding this position are assigned to technical infrastructure and operation support teams and utilize a variety of client/server platforms. Incumbents interact with SAP implementation staff, other IT staff, and other stakeholders to analyze proposed changes to SAP technical configuration settings to optimize overall performance. Individuals in this job position are competent to perform work at the highest technical level with an in-depth understanding of SAP database, network, and system performance configuration and tuning techniques. 2. Tasks (General Description): Knowledge of SAP Classic Basis and SAP Netweaver. Able to integrate SAP J2EE components-- specifically ISA (Internet Sales)-- using Web services within SAP Environments (XI, SRM, CRM, BW and R3) and with other Websphere applications.
