| |
The client is planning to migrate existing DTS packages to SSIS platform starting early 2007. Currently, they maintain over 300 DTS packages with processing logic split between stored procedures and DTS transformations themselves. they are looking for an experienced SSIS/DTS developer who can jump-start the migration effort.
-The candidate will be responsible for migrating the major packages the team identifies. He/she will also work closely with DBA team on setting up guidelines for developing scalable and flexible data imports/ETL solutions that will then be utilized as the templates for future development.
-The candidate will provide hands-on guidance to the development team as to the best practices and new features of SSIS and ways of re-factoring existing solutions to get the best performance on the new architecture. Candidate will actively participate in the effort of creating and maintaining a metadata repository for the firm.
-Client would prefer to find someone who has done migration in the past and is aware of the specific issues that arise during the conversion |
