Experience w/ interacting with data warehouse end users, ETL and business intelligence developers. Exp w/ interacting w/ outsourced development teams. Strong Communications and interpersonal skills (written/oral). 5+ yrs of relevant data warehouse exp. 3+ yrs of relevant dimensional data modeling exp. Experience implementing an entire data warehouse life cycle. Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of data warehousing principals and concepts. Strong grasp of data modeling techniques and concepts. Normalizing/Denormalization. Logical/Physical/Dimensional. Star vs. Snowflake Schemas. Working knowledge of relational database technologies including Oracle 9i+ w/ respect to: strong working knowledge of reading and writing SQL; Table creation and index strategies. Must have: Star Schema Performance tuning, Strong business acumen w/ exp as a Business analyst. Exp. w/ Ascential DataStage (version 6.x); Strong knowledge of OLAP-related principals and concepts; BI technologies including Cognos. Working knowledge of UNIX, strong Data Modeler/ Data Warehouse Architect w/ Oracle 9i, ETL tools, Ascential, and Erwin. Must be a solid Designer/Architecture/Modeler.
