The US UNIX support team consists of 8 staff and is responsible for
providing 2nd and 3rd line support for the firms global UNIX estate. The
Fixed Income System Administration (FISA) desk provides business aligned
services for the Fixed Income Unix, Wintel and DBA platforms Main Job
Function Unix SA to perform all run-the-bank tasks including 24X7 support
within a follow the sun operational model for Fixed Income.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• To provide UNIX support focus to Fixed Income support teams - Will include
building, monitoring and capacity planning for growth
• To be the NY UNIX point contact to the Fixed Income team.
• Provide project tracking and reporting to both global Unix teams and Fixed
Income support
• Work with the global Unix and Engineering team in defining, developing a
supportable process for Fixed Income within the bank
• To assist with day to day, cross application UNIX platform support.
• To provide weekend cover for upgrades / fixes / installs as part of a
scheduled team rota |

BS/BA in Science or Engineering
Qualifications/Education Preferred:
• Sun certification
• Red Hat certification Experience Required
•technical knowledge gained from a senior hands on role within a
global organisation. Skills must be current and include;
• 4 years’ experience of Solaris and Sun hardware in a mission critical
environment
• 4 years’ experience of Linux in a commercial environment
