| |
* Work closely with business and creative staff to understand their needs, design solutions and build appropriate applications.
* Have key involvements in large-scale initiatives including the development of large scale content based websites, content management tools and web based applications.
* Run the technical side of projects from inception to completion.
* Evaluate external technologies and assist in making recommendations as necessary.
* Implement the division's application architecture, development, and deployment strategies.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or other technical discipline required; advanced degree a plus.
* Must have three to five years' technology experience, with prior hands-on work experience in internet applications development.
* Must have direct experience in designing, building, and supporting a large web presence including knowledge of scalability & security techniques.
* Experience building & operating an E-commerce presence is a plus, as is experience in Operations/Systems Administration.
* Intensive hands-on implementation experience with the JavaBeans, JSP and Servlets, Struts.
* Working knowledge of most of the following technologies: OO Design Patterns, Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat, JBoss Application Server, Hibernate, Oracle, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, UNIX, ANT, and Perforce.
* Must have excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills as well as being highly self-motivated.
* The ideal candidate will have been involved in developing policies and methodologies for group development as well as in Quality Assurance initiatives in an Internet context.
* Experience with any of the following technologies would be a plus: DAMS, DRM, or VOD, Affiliate Systems, Content Management Systems.
