| |
This position will have responsibility for ensuring best practices are being followed by development teams when developing and implementing SQL and database design. The individual will also be responsible to work with developers to fine-tune long running important SQL queries.
Review database design and recommend optimum design Support the OLTP & Data warehouse applications.
Work closely with the development teams for all major projects and recommend the most optimum database design for every application.
Review the database design with the data modeler and analyze the design from the point of view of queries that will be potentially executed, reports, inserts, updates, deletes etc. and suggest appropriate clustered and non-clustered indexes.
Capacity & Performance Monitoring
Capture capacity and performance metrics on development databases pertaining to major critical applications.
Analyze the above metrics to come up with a trend to show how capacity utilization and performance will be impacted as the application grows in production.
General Database Administration
Responding to GDMS Requests
Responding to MOM Alerts on capacity issues / outages Responding to Unicenter Alerts on capacity issues / outages Support for GTS planned outages - such as testing servers for connectivity, server / database response etc.
