Our client is seeking a talented J2EE software developer to help construct, and maintain client's umbrella of online video web sites. Under the direction of the Director of Software Development, this position will work on various projects including the construction of new websites and enhancing existing websites.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in front-end web development on the J2EE platform with knowledge of a variety of different web technologies and strong implementation skills. Experience in J2EE Web Applications, JSP/presentation layer technologies, and relational databases is a must as well as prior experience working on large content based/online video internet websites would be an advantage.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help build and maintain the Client's suite of online video websites including key involvement in front-end interactive features
- Work closely with business and creative staff to understand their needs, design solutions and build appropriate applications.
- Have involvement in large-scale initiatives including the development of large scale video websites, content management systems, analytics tools, and additional web based applications.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
** Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or other technical discipline required; advanced degree a plus.
** Must have a minimum of five years' experience in developing web applications on the J2EE platform.
** Experience with JSP and various other presentation layer technologies is required.
** Experience with a relational database is required, preferably in Oracle, but another major database is acceptable.
** Experience with any of the following is a plus. AJAX, Hibernate and/or Spring, Adobe Flex 2, Microsoft DRM, Microsoft Streaming Server, Flash Streaming Server, Video Encoding Technologies, Agile Software Development Process.
** Strong experience in XHTML, DHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript
