Description : |
| |
* Working on the BACKUP, design, development, and support creation of all file system layouts, database environments, referential integrity relationships/constraints and security environment roles.
* Creating BACKUP backup/recovery process and design
* Developing BACKUP operational procedures.
* Developing UNIX shell scripts, design and set up the DB2 data archiving strategy, support ongoing BACKUP enhancements.
* Administering and performing daily database operational and performance monitoring and tuning to ensure BACKUP performance is maintained at optimal levels and is able to support defined business requirements.
* Setting up and administering the BACKUP security environment.
* Providing daily BACKUP support and technical assistance and troubleshooting support to other teams.
* Monitoring software notifications and updates.
* Reviewing BACKUP design specifications to ensure adherence to best practice methods for database usage.
* Providing problem diagnosis and resolution, diagnosing and resolving backup failures.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note:
* Minimum 4 years experience as a System Administrator
* Experience Designing, Installing, and administering, upgrading, maintaining Storage Area Network Environments
* Experience with System Administration in an UNIX Environment
* Experience supporting high-availability production BACKUP**s
* Experience with and willingness to support 24x7 production environments
* Strong communications skills
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Experience in an AIX environment, experience with Websphere, MQ-Series, LPAR LDAP, Active Directory, DB2 HACMP, Veritas Tape Backups, DB2 HADR, DB2/UDB Multi Partition Databases and experience in database architecture and design is desirable.
