| |
Installs, maintains, monitors, and optimizes databases and applications on a variety of complex systems. May monitor or oversee less experienced technical staff.

Essential Job Duties:
- Performs complex database monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
- Manages allocated disk space usage and memory allocations for Oracle and SQL Server database management systems.
- Manages schema changes and implementation.
- Administers Oracle Server security.
- May performs housekeeping on defunct user accounts and historical data.
- Installs and maintain Oracle and SQL Server database products, including patch application and upgrade of the environments.
- Troubleshoots and develops solutions for complex problems related to Oracle and SQL Server database and interfaces.
- Coordinates with Oracle technical support.
- Develops and executes back-up and recovery procedures.
Performs periodic testing of the database backup and recovery plan.
- Works closely with application and system administration and vendors to coordinate activities, resolve development and maintenance issues, and perform application tuning.
* Audits user activity to ensure integrity and performance of the database.
* Establishes standards, policies, and procedures for database administration.
* Coordinates and implement changes to development, test, and production environments.
- Performs development and maintenance of Oracle on Unix and SQL Server on Windows platforms.
- Implements and maintains multiple database environments, including logical/physical design and modeling.
