Job
Description : |
| |
** Responsible for monitoring and improving the performance of DB2 on an IBM mainframe and UDB on a distributed environment, and for performing DB2 and UDB upgrades including Fix Packs.
** Responsible for ensuring the integrity of the mainframe and server data, for developing and implementing back up and recovery procedures, for assisting programming staff with SQL coding, for ensuring that the database system software remains current and consistent across environments and on servers.
** Responsible for defining, modifying and maintaining data base structures for our Customer Information System (CIS), browser based applications and our interactive voice response (IVR) system.
** Responsible for replicating and moving data on servers, IVR, internet and mainframe environments.
** Responsible for assisting application developers with SQL coding.
** Responsible for assisting in the resolution of technical problems that affect the nightly billing process.
** Responsible for developing and testing disaster recovery procedures to ensure the integrity and maximum availability of DB2 and UDB data.
** Responsible for creating and maintaining physical and logical data models
Qualifications:
** 10 years experience as a system**s and an applications support DBA in a mainframe environment with a large-scale DB2 database.
** 3 years experience with IBM Data Propagator creating subscriptions and utilizing the DPROP Database
** 3 years experience as a system and an applications support DBA in a Windows 2003 environment with a UDB database.
** 3 years experience in performance tuning of dynamic SQL in a distributed, multi-platform environment.
** 3 years experience in UNIX Remote Shell Scripting
** 3 years experience in the creating and maintaining data warehouses
