Our Client need a Cognos Application Developer to design, develop, implement, and support various campus-wide reporting systems; the incumbent will also be responsible for developing business intelligence and reporting solutions that help end users access and analyze data in the data warehouse, data mart, or operational systems; work closely with user groups, database administrators, other application developers and systems administrators; and perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate would be a resident of the Bay Area and have the following skills/experience:
**At least ten years experience within the business intelligence and data warehouse environment; in-depth knowledge and at least three years
** (recent) hands-on experience with the Cognos reporting tool suite version 8 (ReportNet, Framework Manager, PPES, PowerPlay, Data Manager, Cognos Macros) as both a developer and administrator; working knowledge of UNIX (Sun Solaris and IBM AIX) and LINUX;
**experience in setting up Cognos ReportNet Security; experience with ReportNet Software Development Kit (SDK) to customize reports using JAVA;
**knowledge of Web application server architectures and security systems administration;
**expert knowledge of structured query language (Oracle SQL) and PL/SQL;
**excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills;
**experience in business requirements gathering;
**knowledge of standard system development lifecycle concepts;
**knowledge and understanding of relational and dimensional data models;
