Title: Cognos
Location: San Francisco, CA
Term: 2 month renewable
This position involves the design and development of complex reporting and data analysis environment which enables dashboard, standardize and ad-hoc reporting, trend analysis and olap cubes creation. This position will be responsible for following general department guidelines and implementing database and report requirements from users, application programmers and operators. Follows best practices for data warehouse implementations.
Essential Duties
• Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence Development.
• Consult with ICAT business analysts to determine design requirements and identify solutions to resolve those needs.
• Write and maintain functional and technical specifications.
• Implement data models, database and framework designs.
• Assist in the resolution of database capacity issues, replication, and other data issues.
• Analyze, define and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, auditing, reporting requirements and production configuration.
• Analyze SQL code for problem resolution and performance optimization.
• Create test plans, test data sets and execute test plans to ensure all components of the system meet specifications.
• Define and document testing methodologies for stress, regression and integration testing for BI projects.
• Define and implement data quality management and error handling processes.
• Define, develops, and tests the processes and programs necessary for data framework, report environment, and OLAP cubes.
Other Duties
• Monitor the performance of ICAT applications and servers and assist with technical support as required.
• Write SQL statements for ad-hoc report generation if needed.
• Trouble shoot ETL process if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
