The Defect Manager is the liaison between Testers and Developers to facilitate timely resolutions of defects. The role reports to the Test Manager. The person who holds this role must be a people person and not be afraid to reach out and communicate with others to get issues resolved and/or escalated.
Skills/Requirements:
* Good management/leadership skills

* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Ability to negotiate
* Ability to facilitate and keep meeting focus and stay on topic
* Proficient with using HP Quality Center
* Have a good understanding of testing and some knowledge of programming
* Detail oriented
* Excellent time management and prioritization/organization skills
* Able to multi-task with ease
* Can work under pressure and in stressful environment
* Can grasp new concepts quickly
* A self starter and self-motivated
Responsibilities of the Defect Manager:
* Facilitate and chair the daily DRB meeting
* Run defect reports prior to the meeting
* Make sure the testers and developers are keeping the statuses updated in the tool
* As part of the DBR ensure developers assigns target fix date and root cause of problem
* Generate defect metric reports for Test Manager to share with TDM , PM dev lead, test leads and Domain leadership
* Work with the test leads and dev leads to plan and priority defect fixes
* Work with CM to ensure defect fixes are deployed promptly and the right status has been assign (deployed)
* Enforce defect SLA*s
