Must be local to VA, DC, MD, NJ, PA, CT, DE, NY.
Must attend In * Person Interview.
The incumbent must have very good analytical skills in order to effectively analyze broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain the desired results. A very good working knowledge of installation and maintenance of the systems software as well as the internals of the system in order to produce the best possible system availability and performance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical terminology to internal levels; strong project management skills coupled with the ability to guide the work of others.
Performance of DB2 and general database systems programming activities. These include, but are not necessarily restricted to:
* Problem Identification, Diagnosis and Resolution
* Day to Day DB2 maintenance and troubleshooting
* Interfacing with User groups, supporting application programmers from a systems perspective
* General DB2 system programming assistance as needed
* Software Maintenance on IBM and Third-Party products
* Interfacing with other IT Technical staff
* Perform general software maintenance support for IBM and other Third-Party products
* Interface with and provide technical support for various Disaster Recovery procedures including participation in DR exercises
