| |
Primary Responsibilities
Work with Product Managers, Business Owners, Product Support, Interaction Designers, Front-End Developers, and User Researchers to define feature/product requirements.
Work with Interaction Designers to translate usability research findings into design improvements.
Generate innovative design ideas that satisfy users, leading brainstorming sessions, creating sample prototypes, effectively communicating ideas and getting buy-in from other team members.
Define GUI standards and guidelines (Style Guidelines) and ensuring compliance of the web sites with those guidelines
Ability to perform hands-on design and production work and play a design role in the creation of interactive projects utilizing Photoshop, Flash, Blend, Visio, Fireworks, Freehand, HTML, CSS.
Thorough knowledge of UI design including typography, color and layout.
Expert knowledge of user interface design principles, HCI practice, user testing methods, and user centered design practice and knowledge of the product development process.
Identify emerging best practices within Visual Design.
Must understand UI principles for prepping final approved graphics for use in software and on the web. This includes a strong knowledge of optimization techniques.
Ability to solve complex issues as well as supply technically viable alternatives.
Ensure design specifications meet the strategic goals of the product teams and that products are deployed according to design specifications.
Design and deliver final images for use in websites and/or software clients using all knowledge of image optimization methods and techniques as necessary.
Work with interaction designers to improve and refine design consistency.
Ability to create Microsoft Style Icons within the Windows XP/Vista and Office themes.
Exceptional understanding of fundamental design principles (typography, layout, grid systems, hierarchy, color, composition, animation). |
