Description : |
| |
Typically 5 to 7 years of experience performing system administration
for a network of multiple Unix systems, for example HP-UX, AIX,
Solaris, IRIX, and Linux. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Engineering, or a closely related field OR 2 additional years of
equivalent work experience in system administration and application
development for Unix systems. Thorough knowledge of IT change
management and project management processes. Thorough knowledge of
system administration activities and concepts for Unix operating
systems, workstations, applications, servers, and supported peripheral
equipment. Working knowledge of disaster recovery procedures and
concepts for Unix systems. Programming skills necessary to create
and/or revise programs for Unix systems and interfaces with other
platforms and systems. Thorough knowledge of multiple programming
languages and concepts for Unix systems, for example, Perl, KSH, and
C. Strong analytical skills and troubleshooting skills necessary to
investigate root causes of abstract problems and implement solutions.
Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with co-workers, other business areas, and
vendors. Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate
workload within a multiple project setting. Ability to express
technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
