| |
Problems are diverse, very complex, and resolution requires advanced troubleshooting techniques involving complex data analysis, the ability to determine the appropriate course of action based on complex and competing issues, the use of ingenuity and judgment to deal with issues not easily evaluated. Incumbent plans and carries out work independently and uses own initiative and judgment to handle non-routine matters and ambiguous issues.
Normally receives only general instructions on new or more complex assignments. Decisions are made independently and affect the work of others. Provides technical guidance to lower level staff and may lead project team(s).
Contact is typically advisory in nature and involves both the exchange of detailed/technical information and providing advice to clients on how to proceed regarding an issue or business problem; typically deals with middle or senior levels of management and/or external equivalents.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge in job-related functional area and of the business. Requires vendor certification.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, and 7-9 years progressive, technical experience.
The candidate will be responsible for the configuration / testing of IP Networking devices (Cisco, Juniper, Netscreen Firewalls) and producing interal docuemntation in support of the Verzon Business Global VOIP network. Strong Wide Area Network Administration experience is required. Previous Command Line experience with Cisco, Juniper or Netsreen firewalls is a must |
