| |
This position is for a senior DB2 LUW Database Administrator (DBA) in a centralized database administration team which provides 7x24 support for Dev, Test and Production environments. The DBA is mainly responsible for maintaining highly visible production databases. Responsibilities include designing, installing, upgrading, patching, tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning and security administration. Candidates must be well versed in DB2 LUW v8 and v9 Database Administration on UNIX or Linux platforms. Immediate participation in an active on-call pager rotation is required. The candidate must be capable of providing off-hours support to avoid impacting database availability during normal business hours. Experience with HADR, HACMP, MQT, MDC and Table Partitioning is desirable along with the Replication, Performance Expert and Query Patroller products. Certification in DB2 LUW is a plus. Any experience in other databases would be advantageous particularly Red Brick. Informix experience would also be beneficial. The ability to work well within a technical support team with both developers and end users is key. Top candidates will also have experience in UNIX shell scripting languages SH, CSH and/or KSH. Perl experience is a definite plus. Candidates must also have excellent communication skills.
