Role: Oracle Performance DBA
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 6+ Months (CTH)
Description:
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of in depth analysis through a variety of database tool sets including Oracle Grid and I3.
- Pitching results of triage and analysis to confirm root cause and proposed resolution plan in a clear and under stable format to the IM process owners.
- Working with third party vendors such as Oracle to confirm bugs for issues and relevant patches that need to be applied.
- Review and evaluate new application releases and their performance impact on associated databases
- Provide benchmarks to support performance enhancements
- Work with Problem Management teams to assist in resolving database related issues.
- Provide support to DBA teams in the form of advice on specific issues.
- Proposal and presentation of required break fix changes to the change board ensuring all required documentation and approvals are included.
Skills * Oracle Database P&A
- Expert in database tuning, query tuning, PL/SQL, table and index partitioning, parallelism, materialized views across both DWH and OLTP environments.
- Familiarity in a multi tier Oracle 9i/10G environment
- In depth knowledge and experience in supporting OLTP and DWH Oracle environments
- Knowledge of Oracle RAC and tuning best practices.
- Strong exposure to Solaris, proficiency in Unix shell scripting
- Knowledge of associated products used in tech stack such as VCS, LVM, EMC, Informatica/BO
- Communicate effectively with the application teams and have understanding of core businesses being supported.
