| |
The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for data warehouse design, development and administration in the Oracle environment. He/She will work closely with the development team and customers to design and build data warehouse including data mart, ETL processes and metadata repositories. At the same time he/she will share the responsibility in production database support with other DBAs.
Responsibilities:
24*7 support for mission critical production Oracle and MS SQL databases
Working closely with development team to clearly understand the business applications and databases supporting the applications
Logical design of the warehouse: schema design, ETL processes, data archival, etc.
Physical design and implementation of the warehouse on Oracle 11G
The Oracle warehouse database administration including monitoring, backup/recovery, performance tuning, changes, and capacity planning, etc.
Define, implement and maintain ETL procedures and schedules to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data in the data warehouse
Ensure the quality, consistency and security of the data warehouse systems following a defined set of procedures and policies (change control, security procedures, backups, etc).
Assist report writers in query performance tuning as requested. Help identify inefficient queries and suggest alternatives. Write PL/SQL packages and stored procedures as needed
Participate in database schema design sessions with other production DBAs to ensure seamless coordination of changes between production databases and data warehouses.
Actively address business unit requests, clearly communicating commitments, issues, completion dates and status with the requestor and with management.
