Description : |
| |
Planning, scheduling, and implementation of voice/data network systems.
* Reviews telecommunications system and data network plans for completeness and accuracy.
* Develops policies and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the agency voice and data communications systems as well as PC equipment and related infrastructure.
* Develops and maintains procedures to facilitate network administration.
* Provides management with long-range plans related to voice/data network technologies.
* Provides system administration for agency local area network (LAN) infrastructure including data center, network backbone and wiring closets.
* Provides technical support for development and production LAN application environments.
* Provides technical assistance and instruction for development, user and operations staff.
* Coordinates activities with vendors for timely implementation of hardware and software maintenance, communication lines/circuits and network cabling.
* Evaluates and recommends network technologies for potential acquisition and directs the evaluation of various hardware and software resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the agency |
