| |
The Configuration Administrator manages and implements the Configuration Management reporting and auditing process, receives configuration report requests from IT managers, queries the various technical tools that store configuration information and provides completed reports, ensures that configuration changes that impact the IT infrastructure are authorized and tracked and uses a variety of technical tools including Siebel, SMS and Opsware to identify Configuration Items (CIs), naming conventions, asset types, categories and data relationships. The Configuration Administrator is responsible for configuration report creation, communication of reports to IT managers/requestors, validation of information in a variety of technical tools, auditing of configuration data, receiving configuration report requests, developing and generating standard and custom reports by querying a variety of technical tools including Siebel Analytics, SMS, and Opsware, distribution of reports to IT managers/requestors, identification of discrepancies in the report data generated by technical tools, coordination with technical Subject Matter Experts for Siebel, Opsware; SMS to identify and correct the root cause of report discrepancies, errors or failures. The Configuration Administrator must also possess the knowledge of organization architecture, problem solving skills, knowledge of technology architecture, communication skills, database administration skills, knowledge of data relationships, knowledge of database queries, and knowledge of Siebel Analytics. The Configuration Administrator will have to be able to identify CIs, know the CAB approval process, implement configuration changes, identify sources of CI data attributes and naming conventions (using Siebel, SMS, Opsware and other technical tools/databases), determine the relationships between CIs, analyze impact of adding new CIs to the technical infrastructure, verify that any configuration changes are implemented in accordance. |
