| |
Works with others in the configuration and administration of Serena products, the corporate standard distributed systems configuration management (CM) tool suite.
Responsible for the day-to-day tool administrative functions such as adding new users, creating new Products, design parts, reports, and developing various tracking metrics. Provides on-going support for CM tool users and mentoring users in the use of Serena products and tool related CM processes.
Also responsible for implementing tool improvements, enhancements to tool functionality and tool upgrades.
Supports on-going improvements in documented Configuration Management policies, standards, processes and procedures necessary for establishing and maintaining integrity in software baselines in the tool.
Enforces the overall Configuration Management Plan as it relates to CM tool use including the necessary procedures, policies and processes for establishing and maintaining integrity in software baselines in the Serena tools.
Works closely with the Change Control Team to enforce CM and change management policies, rules, and processes.
Document and improve standard configuration management processes and procedures to include: version control, build and release management, CM audit reports, configuration identification and control, software product baselines, change management, and reporting in a controlled CM environment.
May chair various process improvement teams.
May also facilitate Change Control Boards (CCBs) and/or CM team status meetings.
Participation in software process improvement efforts to build awareness of CM purpose and practice is also required.
