This position in the Equities IT development team focuses on business critical connectivity/client facing applications, providing 2nd line support to 1st line support team, global release management coordination and tactical development. The main application is responsible for all cash electronic order flow, with routes to program trading, block/working order trading, strategy trading, and direct market access. This role will provide knowledgeable application support, liase with other key IT teams and coordinate application architectural changes into production environments. This position will be client facing, and must have great professional communication skills, with knowledge and experience with the equities business, IOIs, and the FIX protocol.
Individuals must be self-starting, detailed oriented, have excellent follow through, ask difficult questions to quickly assess a problem, possess verbal and written communication skills and be customer-service oriented. Excellent coordination and organizational skills are essential. Candidate must have strong technical and business skills.
The individual will be highly committed: reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy are essential to ensure a courteous and efficient service is provided with tact and patience. The ability to manage a tense situation is a must.
