| |
1.Application Programming and Development
*Design, develop, and test new application software using problem solving and decision making skills. Develop and implement high-end computational algorithms that are efficient and robust. Maintain system/technical documentation on departmental application projects through the full product life cycle. Adhere to written standard procedures for programming and documentation. Provide prompt response to user*s problems and technical needs.
*Proficiency with the M (MUMPS) programming language is required. Be able to manage error flow control using call stack data structure, able to write error trap handler to manage program flow, able to use the DSM debugger utility, able to use I/O over TCP/IP to serve M data for client data requests.
*Be highly proficient in writing M source code using M language elements such as indirection, Xecution, and array parameter passing at an intermediate Mumps programmer level.
*The incumbent to this position must have a working knowledge of the MUMPS programming language and a working knowledge of the VA Fileman DBMS. Knowledge of the DSM (Digital Standard M) platform and related DSM concepts is strongly encouraged |
