| |
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Healthcare terminology – experience in a hospital or health insurance environment (claims processing or customer service) required.
- Patient financial counseling in a hospital environment a plus.
- Verbal and written communication skills to handle inquiries from patients, patient representatives, or Insurance companies.
- Researches billing issues. Responds to telephone, electronic& in-person account inquiries and complaints.
- Ability to interact with, understand and update applications used to manage patient accounts.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and healthcare billing and collection practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures governing credit balance analysis and resolution and of provider contracts with Insurance companies.
- Computer literacy, interaction and keying skills; full competency in MS Office.
- Detail and problem-solving aptitude.
- Ability to interpret and discuss insurance explanations of benefits and payments.
- Ability to work independently, have excellent customer service and communication skills, patience, flexibility and the assertiveness to achieve goals.
- Collect monies owed on large balanced delinquent medical accounts.
- Monitor delinquent accounts and implements collection procedures.
- Sends follow-up letters and accepts payment on certain accounts |
