| |
This role will work closely with the release manager and project manager to build, configure, and test servers prior to each migration event for a datacenter migration. In addition, pre-staging and preparation will be required on servers that will be migrating as well as validation and post-configuration to be done during and after the migration event itself.
Skills: Install and Configure Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server builds, Install, and Configure Server virtualization technologies such as Domains, LDOMs, Zones, and VMware VMs. High Availability Clustering technologies such as VERITAS Clustering Service (VCS) Understanding and configuration of Storage technologies including EMC SAN and NAS? Supporting networking architecture technologies such as Local and Global Load balancers? Scripting procedures related to pre-staging for server build out or replication using tools such as Shell and Perl
Administrator responsible for resolving escalated troubleshooting requirements. Responsible for guiding junior administrators in trouble shooting non-routine and complex troubleshooting requirements. As a senior member, is responsible for ensuring SLA is met and there are no complaints from customer. Technically sound, Contributes to KM and practice building. Prepares the Change management plan and gets sign-off. Conducts planned regular and random Technical audits. Suggest improvement plans. Implement and share best practices. Implement automation of regular admin activities. Capture and report metrics like Devices/FTE, incidents/ FTE, incidents/ devices, SA metrics. Perform trend analysis on the data captured.
