This role is responsible for helping to create the best possible reading experience by ensuring the highest level of dictionary content and functionality across all devices. The successful candidate will be methodical, analytical, objective, and goal-focused with a driving need for accuracy and attacking difficult problems. They will be a strong communicator, able to bridge between technical and non-technical teams. They will be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment with proven ability to be successful in an evolving business.
The Dictionary QA Specialist will:
- Rigorously test dictionaries to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Be able to provide recommendations and improve the existing process and functionality for better customer experience.
- Think creatively to resolve content issues and identify scalable solutions that enable delivery of a high quality product.
- Help to establish process and quality guidelines to ensure quality levels of dictionaries are consistently maintained.
- Maintain meticulous reporting and tracking, present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Be able to work cross-functionally to communicate errors, perceived errors or product improvements in various types of dictionaries.
Basic qualification
- Expert knowledge of Marathi language and language structure. Nice to have knowledge of one or more of the following Indic languages as well: Gujarati & Malayalam
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or similar required
- 2-5 years of experience in editing, quality assurance or publishing-related operations
- Excellent written and oral communication, ability to bridge technical and non-technical issues
- Expertise with MS Windows and MS Office tools, specifically MS Excel
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done
- Experience working with digital text (e.g., website editing or design, digital content, digitization, etc.) strongly desired, including familiarity with HTML and CSS
- Flexibility with changing programs and processes
