India's 1st national park & the 1st sanctuary to come under Project Tiger, it supports a variety of vegetation making it the ideal habitat for the Tiger & its prey. Once a popular hunting ground of the British, this 201 square mile park was named in honor of the late Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter-naturalist turned author & photographer who most of his years in this area & contributed in setting up the this park. With the help of the World Wildlife Fund, Project Tiger was launched in Corbett National Park in 1973 & this park was one of the first such tiger reserves in the country.

Numerous monuments were built over several centuries by different rulers like Qutub-ud-din Aibek, Alauddin Khilji, Tughlaks, Humayun & Shah Jahan, who built the Walled City Shah Jahanabad.
Later in first half of 20th century much of New Delhi was planned by Sir Edwin Lutyens, who laid out a grandiose central administrative area as a testament to British rule in India. The division in walled city & New Delhi also marks the division in life styles.

Located in the foothills of the Himalayas is the majestic Corbett National Park. Home to a variety of flora & fauna, it is famous for its wild population of, Tigers Leopards & Elephants.
